David Morton (Larbert) Ltd successfully delivered the full demolition and site clearance of the Callendar Square Shopping Centre, Antonine Hotel, and the DWP building in Falkirk Town Centre. The project involved:
Comprehensive asbestos removal in accordance with CAR 2012 regulations.
Soft stripping of internal fixtures and fittings.
Mechanical demolition of all structures, including the Link Bridge and associated infrastructure.
Excavation and removal of all foundations and underbuildings to depths of 2–6 metres.
Backfilling, grading, and levelling of the site to meet client specifications.
Installation of protective hoarding, exclusion zones, and 24-hour site security.
Environmental controls including dust suppression, vibration monitoring, and noise mitigation.
Waste management achieving a recycling rate of over 95%, in line with Zero Waste Scotland targets.
Throughout the project, David Morton Ltd maintained full compliance with BS6187:2011, CDM 2015 regulations, and all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation. The works were completed without any Health & Safety incidents, and to the complete satisfaction of the client.
Special consideration was given to the live interfaces with adjacent structures and public areas, requiring careful planning and execution to ensure minimal disruption and maximum safety.
